| Duck Hunts |
The details.
Palmetto Hammock offers guided duck hunts all throughout Florida on public as well as private land. Within the state, duck season is Thanksgiving week then breaks until December and runs until the end of January.
A wide range of duck species can be found throughout Florida during the winter from pintails to wood ducks. The most common species consist of blue-winged teal, black-bellied whistlers, and ring-necks. We can work with clients to target a specific species of waterfowl such as a mottled duck. This will influence the scheduling and location of the hunt.
Throughout the season with hunting pressure and weather, the areas that hold birds are consistently changing. That being said, scouting is an absolute must. We scout almost every day throughout the season to ensure you have the best hunt possible.
A typical hunt consists of a full morning until everyone has reached their limit. Three to four people per hunt is the most common. Arrangements can be made if a group exceeds this amount. Lodging is available, however, it is subject to outside bookings.
The investment.
I take bookings as far as a year in advance. A deposit of 50% is required to secure the dates for the hunt. Guided hunts are tailored to each client’s timeline and needs such as lodging, meals, transportation, and duration of the trip. Please contact me for a specific quote.
